A by-pass oil filter will work fine.
The "oil-pressure issue" with a remote by-pass oil filter is there should be a restriction in the flow through the filter unit, resulting in only a small amount of the oil circulation in the block being "by-passed" into the filter. This system works quite well for oil filtration.
A modern remote filter-head with a spin-on filter will not have flow-restriction - without a restriction a higher % of the oil-flow to go through the filter unit (slightly/greatly? starving the flow of oil in the block).
Some people place a restriction in the inflow line to a modern spin-on filter head (allowing less oil to by-pass through the filter).
Jim Carter Truck Parts sells a restricted spin-on filter unit. The full-flow filtration conversion is nice but the by-pass system works fine.
