At sometime in the future I might rebuild the original 228 motor in my 3/4t PU.

What is the parts availability for these motors.

There is a website that offers a complete rebuild kit for our 228 it called egge.com I am looking into doing the same thing soon

For about the same price you can rebuild a 270 or 302. They will bolt right up and most people won't know the difference. Unless you are going for a factory correct restoration, I'd recommend the bigger engine. Expect to spend around $3000 either way. Might as well get more punch for the bucks.
