I see a lot of trucks don't have hood ornaments. When I got mine it came with this one in the picture. It seems rare or not correct not sure which one. Anyone know for sure. Thanks

Going to start posting pictures soon. I got cab and frame apart today and headed to be dipped tomorrow.
Ready to start putting this thing back together.

That is a hood ornament for a car not a truck. The 47-53 truck ornament looks like this:

The dealer added the ornaments in many cases and they used the same one that they used on the car. They bought them by the case and installed them as requested by the new owner or to doll them up for the lot.

I did not see your picture, but I am guessing it is the same as THIS ONE

My first AD a had car hood ornament that I really liked and was disappointed to find out that it didn't belong. If it wasn't ratted out, I would have kept it.

I like the jet plane one but it's for a GMC I think.... I don't have one at all on my 49.

Will the GMC jet plane ornament fit on a Chevrolet hood (AD series)? I know the hoods are different between GMC and Chevrolet but I would have guessed the hood profile would have been the same. However I noticed in the aftermarket parts catalogs that the hood center strips are different between the two. Perhaps is just becasue the leading edge is different?? Joe
