For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jan 2012 Posts: 162 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jan 2012 Posts: 162 | The frame on my 52 Suburban is painted a gray/ blue color. frame color I have never seen one like this before. It does not appear to have ever been off of the frame, but I know the front end sustained damage at some point in it's life. This is a Former Air Force truck so could it be paint or undercoating applied by the Gov't or maybe it was a replacement frame? The entire frame is this color. Any ideas? It is a common practice to paint structures on aircraft gray so the cracks are easily seen where they would go unnoticed with a standard black frames. So...it may have been for maintenance purposes rather than esthetics

I know there are quite a few retired military vehicles out there and was wondering if anyone else could verify this phenomenon?! It's kind of cool looking, and I was thinking of trying to preserve the look.
