I would consider used if I could find them for a 53 1/2 ton. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 277 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 277 | Myself, I have decided to go with Jim Carter. You can keep a lookout for an original set on ebay but they tend to be kind of beat up IMHO (remember they were trucks).

Have you ever ordered from Chevs of the 40's. They have caps that fit 41-46 1/2 tons that I like, just personal taste. They are feathered on the catalog cover. JC does not have this style. The caps you're talking about have to be the most readily reproduced caps I've seen for Chevy's. JC has them too: All Jim Carter's 34-36 Caps, click here And they're easy to find made to fit custom wheels or stock wheels. Even Wheel Vintiques sells them to fit their wheels. The caps I have are the 36-46 GMC caps from JC, but I had to get The Wheelsmith to modify them to fit my custom wheels. They're great quality caps. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2012 Posts: 58 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Oct 2012 Posts: 58 | Got mine at Golden State.

There is a sticker inside saying something like GM authorized. Had them on for near on 15 years and they are fine. My memory keeps on going to JC or Chevs of the 40s. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2013 Posts: 863 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jul 2013 Posts: 863 | I've purchased quite a bit from Chevrolet's of the 40's. Everything I've purchased has been good to excellent quality. I would say their hubcaps are probably good quality and equivalent to Jim Carter's.

I personally like the older style and was told they would fit a stock 53 1/2 ton wheel with tabs by a employee from chevs of the 40's. Would anyone know for sure? JC has a better price. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2009 Posts: 1,596 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2009 Posts: 1,596 | If the wheels have the clips in those years they fit the same, yes. Your 53 will fit the 36-46 style as well. | | | | | Joined: Aug 2011 Posts: 815 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Aug 2011 Posts: 815 | Thanks for the info. I like the style you have for your truck. That is what I would have...if I had a GMC. They're definitely not as thick as my originals but they look fantastic and they're stainless. | | |
