inner actual hubcap. The reproduction hubcaps are only one layer.

If you can take your hubcap to a local sign place they should easily be able to make you decals in the correct color. It might help mask the curves on your hubcaps. Lay it on thick and cut out the area to be painted with an Exacto knife. Don't know if the knife will damage the chrome. > Masking FilmI ended up not using the liquid because my bowties are mostly straight. So I used 1/4" 3M Vinyl Tape 471+ masking tape instead. Burnish it onto the hubcap and paint will not creep under it. The 1/4" width allows the tape to follow a curved line. Also available in 1/8" width. > 3M Vinyl Tape 471+1-Shot sign painter's paint may be a good choice for paint. Flows out smooth by brush, or can be thinned and sprayed.
