I used this video to rebuild my carb 7004468 which I researched to be a R1-B from my 235. The video was awesome because I was able to follow it step by step. The close-up video I took also came in handy. At 25:50 Mike, the gentleman that made the video is talking about how there could be two holes in the accelerator pump well. I technically have two holes on the side of the well but one of them appears to have a stuck aluminum check ball that can only see from outside of the carb. It didn't seem to be the one "on the bottom" that he was referring to since it is technically not on the bottom but directly across from the other one on the side wall. I wasn't sure if we were both working on the same exact carb. I left if jammed in there to keep gas from leaking out of the carb. Can anyone confirm if this is correct? If not, what is the hole leading to the outside for and how is gas kept from just leaking out if it wasn't plugged? Thanks
Here is a picture of what I am talking about. This is a view of the outside of the carb. It looks like a slotted screw but that is a dent that I made with a flat head screw driver trying to pop it into the carb to replace it. It didn't budge. I decided to leave it until I could do more research.
I just dug up another Rochester that I had laying around. It's a little different but it doesn't have a stamped number on the base to reference a model number but it also has this on the outside. I know this one was working for sure so I can only assume that this is normal.
Does any one know if the outside bottom gasket should cover up the small port on the base or not? The gasket supplied in the rebuild kit covers it.

There must be acsess for the vacuum in the manifold to reach that hole. Cut a little hunk out of the gasket so it will reach the inside of the manifold.

maybe "Carlos" from www.carbsonly.com can help you. I buy there some rebuild carburetors after a good tip from Patrick antikcars in casa grande. He was very friendly at the telephone and he has a good Homepage. Try it.
