So I have a new sending unit and new 12v gauge. Tested before I put in and seemed to work ok.

So after putting it all back in truck low and behold it is stuck on a little over half tank. Even when disconnecting the battery same reading. I think the needle may be rubbing.

Is that where I start? How bout ground?

and is the tank about 1/2 full? there's another recent thread where this is discussed, the gauge is the new 'electronic' style rather than the original 'magnetic coil' type, and it stays where ever the last reading was - if it works [E when empty, F when full], don't fuss over it

No that is not it. It has copper coils and without the glass and metal piece that sits on top works good. As soon as the cover goes on it goes bad. Seems the gauge pivot point is sitting too high. Another fine Taiwanese work of art.

Will try and adjust the metal cover. Pure crap!

Had to press the metal piece against the glass, works like a charm now. Had that gauge apart way to many times
