Last night, however, I noted a leak underneath in front and it turns out to be coolant...I think. Not motor oil but feels ever so slightly slippery. Radiator is full but over flow tank is empty. Drips heavily when running and left a big puddle on the garage floor. Can't really tell where it's coming from BUT, as I said the Radiator is full.... I guess it could all be from the OF tank since it's empty but can't tell yet where it's coming from...maybe bottom water pump seal...

Grrr...will these problems never cease ?

The coolant level in the radiator when cool should be just to the top if the coils. The remaining space in the top tank will fill as it heats up and coolant expands.

Sweet, I wondered about what you said too...the level in the top tank is just where you said it should be now.
I added to the overflow to about mid level.. Seems to run at 180 or slightly lower now unless I'm climbing a long grade. Did that this afternoon...maybe a 10 mile grade from 1800' to 2500 ft. It got up to about 195 but cooled right down once I got level... Top speed on that run was 60 but I slowed to 50 when I noticed how fast I was going... I still have the 4.11 rear end. | | |
