For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 47 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 47 | does anyone have a pic of a balancer installed on a 235. I pulled mine off and now that I've put it back on it looks odd. I thought the crankshaft would be flush with the outside of the balancer (the side towards the radiator)when pressed on, but I have about one inch from there to the crankshaft. I should have taken a pic before I pulled it off. thanks.

Look at the bore of your balancer... you should see a line were the rust stops and the nose of the crank starts... its about half way.
When you have the balancer properly installed (pulley to the rear) as long as the water pump and crank pulley's line up... that's as far as you need to go.
Tapping the crank for a bolt to keep the balancer on is popular option. There is also a tool a guy here made to make it as easy as possible. | | |
