For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 43 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 43 | Can anyone with a 3600 tell me the proper location of the spacer on the spring hanger. Mine came apart with the spacer on the outside of the spring but the manual says the inside of the spring??? Manual must be wrong because of alignment with the rear axel perch. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2011 Posts: 89 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2011 Posts: 89 | Just re-arched, painted and hung the rear springs on my 54 3600. The spacer is definitely on the outside. The alignment with the spring perches is off significantly otherwise as you have stated.
Would have to dig deep into the rebuild archives for pics but i am fairly sure that before i pulled the springs of to restore them the spacer was on the outside as well (the truck was stock and untouched at that time). Hope this helps. If need pictures i can probably dig some up.
