(49 3600) It has the same markings as the fuel gauge (sender and Ignition). So which is "in" and which is "out"? Do I go by the + and - markings on the face? If so, is the + the in from the battery, and the - out to the voltage regulator? | | |

But, I THINK that the pos side goes to the battery and the neg side goes to everything else.
I'll crawl under the dash on mine (it's a little older, but an ammeter is an ammeter) and have a peek. I'll let you know. | | |

On the face, the meter on my '55 has a "D" on the left for Discharge, and a "C" on the right for Charge.
These are heavy wires (10 AWG minimum), so make sure the spade terminations must be TIGHT. Otherwise the wiring will get hot at the gauge. | | |
