How does the knob/lever end with the 90 degree bend stay inside the switch? The book shows how the car switch assembly works, but not the truck. | | |

A 1946 could use a stright rod with knob or the erlier switch used a rod with a 90deg bend to rotate the switch plate inside the unit. either one of these can be found used and you just add a new reproduction knob.

The nut that holds the switch to the dash has a long sleave the when threded into place dose not alow the 90deg tail to come out of the switch.
