Uploaded with ImageShack.us im told that it should just fall out... but i cant get the adj screw for points out 4 starters does it come apart ???? thanks in advance ....dave....
The screw you can't get out shouldn't come out! It's a eccentric screw for point gap adjustment and I believe it's peened on the underside of the breaker plate...it doesn't hold anything to anything, only turns!
From your pictures it appears all the screws have been removed so the breaker plate should come right out. It probably won't 'fall' out, you may have to take a hook of some sort and persuade it, but it will come out...if you hold your mouth the right way.
Just what atomarc said. Try a hooked machinists scribe and tease it a bit at a time. go from side to side and rock it up a little at a time. It will come out. Then you will see what 70 years of grease and dirt look like.
thanks guys,, thats the sort of comformation I need.... ...I just didnt wont to force it,,, as it was,,, just in case I busted something....I only got the one... I'll let yez know how i go .... ...again thanks .........dave.....
