I think that something in the clutch went out of position during the installation of the transmission. Please let me know what parts I need to check.

Something probably slipped out. The fork rides on a ball in the bell housing & the forks go in the grooves in the TO brg. You can remove the lower cover & look up to see if it all working. You can have someone work the clutch pedal as you watch the action. They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing. 1972 Chevy c10 Cheyenne SuperIn the Gallery Forum | | | | | Joined: Mar 2009 Posts: 788 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2009 Posts: 788 | Hi all, after installing the transmission on my 66 truck I noticed that the clutch does not feel with tension and when I try to change from neutron to any gear it makes a grinding sound. Thanks did you do anything to the clutch itself at the same time, like perhaps replacing it. people are usually a little short on describing what they did - leave out a few details. there is also a v shaped wedge which goes on the end of the adjustable rod from the z-bar to the throw out arm(at the throw out end) easy to misplace and then not realize that it is required ron

Do you think that could be the problem? Refer to the link below to see a picture. Please advise.
