Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Sep 2008 Posts: 872 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2008 Posts: 872 | My dist. is held on by a simple clamp. The 4 vendors I checked do not sell the complete distributor clamp with vacuum advance, only the vacuum advance.
Any ideas who has new, complete vacuum advance dist clamps? | | | | | Joined: Jan 2009 Posts: 1,644 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2009 Posts: 1,644 | Put an add in Parts wanted there are alot of them out there.

The one that was on the dist in the 'box of parts' is not for the 235 dist (the clamp is to large.. does not grab the dist I have for the 235).
The motor is a 58 235 with a rebuilt dist from Advance auto. The dist clamp I am using was also in the box-o-parts. It fits the rebuilt dist but has nothing to hook an vacuum advance to.. its just got the clamp, a clamp screw, and a flange for the block hold down bolt.
I would prefer new, but I will post a wanted ad if I cannot find a new one. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2008 Posts: 872 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2008 Posts: 872 | That's what I have...... sort of.
Those will not work with the vacuum advance, correct?? | | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,270 Bubba - Curmudgeon | | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,270 | Is this what you need in combination with the part/collar/clamp shown at the links above?

I'll run without it if I can't get one... just would rather have a bit more MPG out of the old beast. A G506 clocks in at about 8,000lbs empty... that's a lot to ask of a 130hp | | |
