Do I need to bleed this line or should the new pump just push this air through the carb when I crank it?

I have a 49 that If I am lucky get out once or twice a year. I have placed a "performance" type fuel filter right in front of the carb. This way I can see when the gas has gotten to the Carb. When I say "performance" type I mean it is one of the fuel filters that has a replaceable element and is clear. The are usually found in the performance section of your local auto parts store.
Just be patient as this could take a little time.
