Hi,
1960 283 v8 c10 - Does the hose from the water pump feed the top or bottom pipe on a recirculating heater?

Thanks

doesn't really matter, but usually you would put the hot water in at the high point of the core, cooler water out at the lowest point

Thanks Bill... I currently have the water pump feeding the larger / top of the core so I guess it’s correct... i just wish i had more heat in winter!

Actually the hose going to the water pump is the return hose. The pressure comes from in back of the thermostat. With the engine warmed up & the fan on high grab the hoses. They should be about the same temp. & you should not be able to hold on to them over 2-3 seconds. If the return hose is cooler the core is plugged up. If neither one is real hot the therm. is bad.

George, you're right that temp everywhere in the cooling system will be very close to the same .... but the factory instruction shows routing as I meant to say
