I'm trying to remove my fuel pump on my 55.1 3100, but one of the fuel lines won't come off. I assume I only need to turn the nut on the fuel line fitting to remove it? Or is there something I'm missing?

It appears that I'm working with the original pump and line. Could the fittings be so corroded that it won't move?

If so, would I better off removing the old pump with the old line (leading to the carb) still attached and just replace them both?

Thanks!

Use a wrench on the adapter that is screwed into the pump, then use a flare wrench on the line. They can be real tight. Is the nut messed up from someone in the past using a vice grip on it? If it's messed up you should get a new nut put on along with a new inverted flare.

Liberal spraying with break free and the two wrenches did the trick! Line is off and the nuts are still intact.

Thanks!
