I wanted to ask the group if anyone had put such a monster in a 48 1.5 ton. I have a line on a decent 1948 1.5 Ton GMC Gravel truck I am thinking of dropping the motor into. I know the motor is a bit longer than a standard small block so I was wondering if anyone has done this or seen it done?

Have seen a 6V53N in a similar truck, guy did a very nice job and didn't have to cut firewall. However it was stuffed in there real tight, not something I'd want to work on and maintain ongoing. Having seen it a few years in a row I don't think he puts very many miles on it.

But, buy the 6-53 anyway!!
Put it in something a little newer. They are great engines.
