I'm looking for a good respirator for painting/rust work. I've got a fresh air system but would still want a 1/2 mask to use some times. Any recommendations?

I went to the local auto paint store and bought a 3M one for paint. Works well as far as I can tell. Lowes/Home Depot carry similar masks for about $10 more.

Normally I would ask what materials you are spraying to insure you are protected (eyes) from isocyanates, but with the fresh air system hopefully you have a full mask with that setup. I do have some of the 3M 1/2 masks in the shop, and also have their full face mask as well. Nice part about that is the filter replacements are interchangeable, so you only need one replacement.

You guys want to post some "3m" number for what you've used,
there are so many different models it's easy to lead someone
down the wrong isle.
