Am changing a 63 c-10 230 engine from dist. to an hei . Does the new square coil for the hei need to be grounded? This is a Langdon unit that I've had for a couple of years and am just getting around to changing it.
Thanks

First time I saw this truck I said "That's the one!"

The OEM HEI coil (which i8s square) is grounded in the distributor cap by one of the four screws that hold the coil in the cap. Langdon also sells the Pertronix conversion. If you have the Pertronix, grounding the coil shouldn't be a consideration.

I don't own a vehicle that isn't old enough to drink.
