Before I start, please be advised that this is not on a road worthy type vehicle, and safety is not an issue. I have some leaf springs from 1910, and the "V" notches on the ends, that align the leaves together, have spawldes or chuncks out of them in various places. I do not want to get into welding all of these, but I am looking for some kind of filler. This will mostly be a static vehicle, but will be moved, hauled etc, and I don't want something that will fall out, or crack around the edges. This will be a buildup of maybe 3/16 in the thickest point, not just a thin layer. I would assume that something that is attached directly to the steel and not paint would be more secure. Perhaps some kind of a 2 part epoxy maybe? I would very much like to hear any opinions that you may have. Thank you for your help.
