I already have been advised of the pros and cons, but I have one question. What side of the ammeter does the main/fatty altenator wire attached to? The battery side or the load side?

#96216 07/04/2006 3:32 PM | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 70 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: May 2005 Posts: 70 | The load side is for the electrical 'load', such as lights, etc. The other side' battery' is attached to where the power comes from, battery /alternator. You can test for proper operation by connecting the ammeter and turn on the lights without the engine running, if the needle swings to the (-) side it is connected right. If it swings to the (+) side it is connected backward, so just reverse the wires.
