This is a picture of my grandfather at the farmers market. I remember riding in this truck with him. I found a 1969 truck for sale that looks just like this. With very little information in this picture can anyone tell if this truck is a 1969 model? Thanks

Going from the small rear window, I would say it's a '67. '67 was is the last year for the small window cab.

The C20 I found for sale is advertised as a 1969 year model and has the same window. The link below is the one I found for sale. Do they have the wrong year model on it?

Can you get a pic of it from the front? From what I can see in the pic you've posted of the one that's for sale, it looks to have a '68 doghouse on it. Would need to see it from the front to tell for sure.

67 was the last year for the small window as standard [with a big window option], 68-72 the big window was standard, the small window cab was the option .... what will tell if Grandads truck was a 67 is if it had NO side markers, otherwise you need to see the grille to tell for sure what year it was

Also, do the hub caps on the picture with my grandfather in it tell us anything about the year?

That's a 69 or 70 grille.

http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cb/full.aspx?Page=9
Check the VIN

Side markers are lights: little amber lights on the side of the fenders started on all US vehicles in 68.

red58, I thought 67 was the last small back window, period.
Interesting...

lookingfor3600, That's a nice looking truck. Buy It. smile

I thought the same thing about the small window cab. None of the sources, even GM Heritage mention the option after '67.
Now that I've seen the front, definitely '69 or '70, I'm leaning more toward '70, as the grille has the extra finned inserts that the '60 doesn't have.

well, maybe not a listed option, but I have seen 68's with the small window, might be 'remainder' cabs that got used in early 68? or maybe ordered by a dealer that way .... agree the one in question looks more 70 than 69, but the VIN is what'll tell

The only way to be sure of the year is to look at the VIN number. The 5th digit denotes the year.

Being nearly 50 years old it may have had a different bed and doghouse put on it....

Here is the next big question.......I have checked into having a vehicle shipped. There are so many options out there. Any suggestions for the most reasonable option? It does not need to be an enclosed trailer. Shipping would be from Iowa to Georgia. Thanks

your best bet is to just shop around, put a post in the Hauling Board here, and check at Yesterdays Tractors hauling section, both have dependable carriers, ask for quotes

The caps on your grandfathers truck look to be either '67 or 68.
