anybody have a picture or diagram for proper installation of interior rear view mirror for 54 pu? thanks in advance jim

The 216 and early 235 engines are not "splash oilers" -- this is a splash oiler.

Just want to sure I understand with drill in hand. Looks like the safest way is to place the bracket against (or very close to) to the rubber trim. From the diagrams, I see no danger in that. I really don't get the 1/2" measurements in the Chevy diagram, which seems like overkill. What about just go right up to the rubber, mark, and drill? What say you?
