On those U pins (not sure exactly what they are called) it appears they could go several different ways. I do not have a good 'before' picture to show me. Can anyone direct me on how to place those U pins? If the pin goes on top or below the jet? If the curved portion of the U goes towards the jet end or up against the side of the pan? A picture or diagram would greatly help, if one is available. (I've tried searching with no luck).

As you can see in THIS LINK there is a gauge for checking the alignment. You can also see in the picture that the water jet is hitting in the center of a 1"(aprox)square spot on the pan after it goes through the hole in the target gauge. I have for years checked alignment by just making sure the jet hits in the center of that 1" square spot without using the gauge.
