I just wanted to ask a few questions before i hook up the battery. 1) The harness instructions are telling me to ground the field terminal on the generator to the generator frame if I don't have a resistor on my headlight switch (which I don't). I wanted to make sure this is correct. From my reading of wartime delco repair manuals it seems this model is externally grounded and thus needs the ground to frame. The harness instructions left out a coil to ignition switch wire so I'm a little concerned about their accuracy.
2) to polarize this generator all I have to do is hook up battery to system, then use a jumper wire to bypass the cutout without the engine on?
