Can someone help us out with parts interchange information. I'd be curious to know what years, and what model (size/tonage) trucks the front spindles and hubs fit. Possibly axels if its easy. Randy D has finished that disc kit for his 46 2Ton. Perhaps someone can help us to know what other years this kit may work on?

Tomcoe, I wish I knew the answer to this. Can someone chime in that has received one of the templates that I shipped out and tried them on a 1.5 ton?

Any way to look up the kingpin part numbers?

I know that for the Taskforce series 55 second to 59 trucks at least, the two ton has a bigger spindle. The one and one and a half ton have the same spindle.

For the AD trucks the 1.5 ton standard axle is a light weight, and the 1.5 ton heavy axle is more like (eaxctly?) like the 2 ton, same spindles and king pins.
I'm no expert on the older trucks but in my research the common 40's and 50's and even 60's GM 2 ton kingpin size is 1.109", and a lot of stuff interchanges around that.

So if you have 1.109" kingpins you can use spindles, hubs, brakes and all off another axle with the same king pin size. What that should mean is if this brake kit in question is designed for an axle that uses a 1.109" kingpin then if not direct fitting then by swapping spindles and hubs you should be able to use it on 2 ton and heavy 1.5 ton trucks up into the 60's, so long as they have the same kingpin size. Only downside and question to be answered is what are the differences in spindles for mounting the caliper bracket, and hub for mounting the rotor adapter for all those year trucks. That'll tell you when you need to swap spindles and hubs to make the kit work and then what year range do those parts have to come from.

Keep in mind that the hub pilot diameter on these 5/10 lug trucks was 4.75" in the late 40's to about 1955, from then on they went to 5.25" center hole in the wheels/pilot on the hub. This will be good to remember when and if you start swapping spindles and hubs around and weather you want old or newer wheels. All 19.5" and 22.5" tubeless wheels with this 10 lug on a 7.25" circle bolt pattern have 5.25" center hole.

Grigg, Thanks for the info. Any chance you would have some of the older stuff laying around? I would be willing to send out some templates so you can compare.

I will be pulling the wheels off my 46 2-ton in the next week or so to take a mold off one of the wheels for a project I'm working on. I plan to blast and paint the wheels while I have them off. At that time I can take some more measurements of the spindles, hubs, etc. I won't be able to measure kingpins, but maybe the rest of the measurements will get us closer....

I have both 48 Chevy and 53 GMC 2 ton front spindles and hubs laying around. Nothing older.

You can get a pretty good guess on the king pin size even without removing it.
If it's not 1.109" and 6.34" long like the 2 ton (and heavy 1.5 ton) has then it's should be 0.921" and 5.64" long as used in many 3/4, 1, and 1.5 tons.
