I have a 58 apache half ton. Did the bed mounting bolts go through wood blocks for spacers or did they go through rubber pads?

none of the above, but I think most would use a thin piece of rubber to avoid any squeaks if bolts loosen a bit as the wood shrinks

I used some 4x4 inch by half inch rubber pads on mine. Someone had turned it into a flat bed. When I bought the truck the guy gave me a 55 GMC step bed , so I guessed at the mounting .
