Even though my 65 C10 is NOT a rust bucket, it has plenty of dents.
My PS inner and outer rocker pieces look pretty solid but the outer rocker has been pushed in about 3/4" - see pics.
PS Rocker Pics on Photobucket

I see 5 possible options for repair. I'm a novice so I usually ask before charging ahead with my own plan.

1. Drill out all spot welds, remove outer rocker, patch repair small hole. Replace.
2. Replace outer rocker with a repop patch panel.
3. I can use my studwelder gun and try to pull it out, but that won't treat any rust inside the rocker and I'll still need filler.
4. Cut out some of the inner rocker so I can push out the dents in the outer rocker AND treat rust. Patch the inner rocker after I'm done.
5. Cut off the front 3rd of the rocker (I need to patch weld the inner cowl where it meets the front door pillar and floor - see pic.)
Inner cowl rust that also needs repair

I plan to brace the door opening if I remove the outer rocker.

So what option seems best?

I like #4, at least for an attempt. The inner rockers are rusted out on mine and I plan on treating the inside of the outer rockers before I repair them. Tap out what you can making sure you have some type of dolly on the outside of the rocker as you hit on the inside part. For treating the rust, I like Corless over Por15, just my preference, but I've had really good luck with it. At some point the floor on my truck had the same inner cowl floor area repaired on both sides. Whoever did it, did a decent job.
