I need some help figuring out which filter to use. Truck is a 1954 3100 series with original 235 ci engine. A filter housing is mounted in the typical location on the intake manifold. The orange lid on the black cannister has a sticker that says AC Kleer Kleen L-4. Also says “When oil appears dark … install new AC L-14 element.” The orange lid id 4.5 inches diameter.
The element that was in the housing had no name or easily identifiable markings. However, it did have some numbers, as follows: 551201, and right under that, 0422163 followed by “Made in USA.” The element is 3.25 inch diameter, and is 3.75 inches high. There is a round cork gasket on top, and a similar rubber gasket on the bottom.
BTW, the guy at NAPA said to use a NAPA 1010, but it was much too tall, and much smaller center bore.
Any ideas?
