When I hook up my temp gauge in the dash after about tem minutes it will be pegged out. Install the old gauge and it too will eventually peg out even with the new sensor.
If the wiring from the back of the gauge to the temp sensor is bad will it make it eventually peg?

I've read on other forums that some brands work better than others. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | never had any problem with a sender, but you can heat it in a pan of water on the stove with a thermometer, while watching the ohm reading, should move steady and not get to a max [or min] reading until the water is really boiling - if it's causing your gauge to peg at a true 180 it should show up
