Can't avoid it, so we must embrace it. Just think of your perfect restoration as a sweet barn find for someone else in the distant future. It can be pretty much stopped. "perfect resto" Not yet, someday, can only do imperfect for now. Any preservation is better than no preservation.

I'd say that you have quite a ways to go for perfection. My original point was to not fret so much about the unavoidable reappearance of rust, just do the best that you can and be happy. You own something very special and the envy of many.
