The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Engine Shop Neway valve seat cutters... any opinions?

Since I have 1 more 235 (a 52) and a GMC 270 motor still to do I was thinking that doing my own valve seats would save me a ton of cash. I found the Neway sets and they appear to be well known, even found some youtube videos.

Anyone have an opinion on them?

I have used them before, they work pretty well, provided you get a pilot that fits the valve guide good and tight. They can be very time consuming if you have new guides and they are not pressed in exactly straight. Make sure you have the cutters to go above and below the seat to get the correct placement of the seat in correlation with the new face of the valve
