I was wondering if anyone had a pic of the wiring of an alternator for a 327, also looking for the two bolts to hold alternator in....thanks...Terry

Hey, Terry

The #2 wire is RED and it's also the fatter of the two wires.

But even without knowing that, you can tell by my drawing. The two-wire plug only goes in one way and if you look at the plug from the BAT connection view (as in my drawing) the #1 and #2 wires would be in those positions.

thanks for the information everyone, sorry i haven't replied as much my daughter that is 3 years old has a platelet disorder called "ITP" which causes her to bruise easy and she was doing good her count got back to 328 and all the sudden yesterday it dropped to 38 so were back to the doctors to see what we can do....Terry

ok i looked at the wires again for the alternator they cut and they have a white red and blue does this sound right? and if i'm right theres a plastic plug that goes into the back of the Alternator right??? please help anyone have pics of a wiring setup on a motor so i can get the picture literally....and also where would i get that plug and the parts to fix that wiring?terry

You need to know what alternator came off it and replace it with the same if you want to use those wires. There are at least 3 different wiring configurations for GM alternators. Your best bet is to get an alternator then wire the truck to it.

why not use a one wire alternator a simplify all this? GM one wires in summit for $100 bucks.
