The #2 wire is RED and it's also the fatter of the two wires.
But even without knowing that, you can tell by my drawing. The two-wire plug only goes in one way and if you look at the plug from the BAT connection view (as in my drawing) the #1 and #2 wires would be in those positions.

There are at least 3 different wiring configurations for GM alternators. Your best bet is to get an alternator then wire the truck to it. | | |
