How in the world do you remove the light switch on a 41 Chevy? I can't figure it out. I thought it had a push clip to remove the knob, but I can't find it. The 41 manual show a switch, but it's not like the one in the truck. The switch looks original.

Then remove the retaining nut on the front of the dash.

Probably the easiest way to see it is to loosen the chrome trim ring on the front of the dash and allow the whole switch to roll over upside down. You will see a U” shaped metal tower that houses the dash light dimmer. The rod from the knob passes through this and then it passes though another “U” shaped bracket (facing the opposite direction) which is the slide for the switch itself. The spring clip is inside this second “U” and engages a slot in the rod. Push the spring clip toward the body of the switch and while you have it pushed all the way down into the switch body pull the rod and it will come right out. | | |
