have a 48 gmc 1/2 ton, 6 cyl. need gasket that sits on top of the bowl of carb...

Individual gaskets usually hard to get unless you stumble across one on ebay. Most likely you'll have to get the entire kit or possibly cut your own.

I had a wonderful place,"JOES CARBURETOR" where I could get them, but unfortunately Joe passed on. And so did the wonderful place. I DID however find some wonderful hole punches at harbor freight, that go very small, perfect for making gaskets such as these. It is a 9 piece set. Just what the doctor ordered.

I think it is a 228, has a Rochester carb.

You can get rebuild kits or like brokenhead say's.
I have a set and a roll of felton gasket material... I like making my own. Good skill set for other projects. I recently made a gaskets for my ext door handles and windshield wipers...

Call NAPA or look up Carbking here and find his link to rebuild kits.
