Wiper conversion.....

The orginal vacumm motor was DOA when I got the truck cab and since the motor is going to be turbo charged it was not an option. So what to do? Variable speed conversion kit are $$$$ so I decided to home brew it.... well 35 hours later I it ready to test under electrical power.

Parts

wiper arms and pivot points - hyundai pony
linkage with bellcrank - late 80's lumina
wiper motor - 90 GMC full size truck
Mounting bracket - custom made

Work involved heavily modifing the wiper post crank arm, drive rods (except the motor driven rod
) motor crank arm, the bell crank is untouched.

cut and past the url below to see pix. there are other of the truck too.

Nice work efi-diy. When you take some thing apart you take it apart. I'm doing the same with my 52. I'm using the original wiper setup, I made a pivot where vac motor mounted and ran a arm to the wiper motor from a 89 caprice.
P.S. what is your fuel tank from?

Gas tank is out of a 92 firebird - TPI 350.

Well This project started with a bare cab and a rolling frame and bunch of sheet metal from a wide number of trucks. So yes is a real frame off conversion. I grafted a 79 Nova clip on to the front and then swapped out the torque tube rear axle for a ford 9" Now if I want I can bolt in any GM powertrain from a 6 to a big block.
