The way things site right now, I'm not quite sure that all of my gauges are bad, or just wired poorly.
Anybody who has experience with going this route please offer your advice.

Same situation as you, it was so messed up that he just decided to nuke it from orbit and start again. It was actually pretty easy, a lot of work to do it right, lots of time hanging wires and making everything look good. It turned out real nice though. Most of the companie that sell parts for these trucks have several types of harnesses, full and partial. I know that LMC Truck has a few pages of them. American Classic probably does too, as well as Chevy Duty. It will take time to remove things, make sure you take pictuers so you know how to put things back in, we didn't do that on the jeep and it made the re-install take a lot longer. I assume that you have a digital camera, saw your gallery post, cool truck by the way. I am not an expert but would be happy to help in any way that I can, good luck.

This idea is probably a few weeks away.
But, on oyur suggestions, I think this is the route I'm gonna take.
The wiring is so bad on Venus, and I'd rather have new stuff. Something more to learn, and more money.
I'm in for the long-haul with Venus, and know it's gonna take some time to get her working right.
I want the mechanics working right first before I paint her.
Of course, I can do my light sanding in the meantime.
I appreciate the advice.

Very high quality and very pleased with it. I got the deluxe in case I decided to add the bling later. On my 47 jeep, it had no wiring to speak of. That time I just laid out the wires and did it myself. Other than one or two bonehead mistakes, it works very well, but it has nothing on it. Lights, horn, engine stuff. Not even turn signals.
Because it was so simple, some surplus wire, and some crimp connectors got the job did. I bet I don't have $30 in that job. (on the jeep) | | |
