I was wondering if anyone has measurements (IE) diameter of holes and placement in reference to center. I bought a set of S/S moulding and it seems the clips don't fit correctly and I want to make sure I install them correct and everything works right before I drill out my cab and doors.
Thank You everyone in advance for your help

no guarantee the repro stuff matches factory, but here's the side detail and the rear from the assembly manual

The repo trim is fairly close but the clips are bad news. There is almost no way to use them without denting the trim. We used as many of the old clips as possible but didn't have enough. Try to find some that fit tighter inside the edges of the trim. Good luck.

I tried to install the clips into only the moulding to see if they would work and naturally they didnt. I had to open them up wider and had to compress the spring curvy part so that the clip would pull the moulding onto the cab tightly. I wish I knew where to find original clips. frown

"the filling station" vendor bought up the extras from a 'bolter who had new ones made to the dimensions of the original clips. i bought these a couple of years to use on my truck (see my signature for pics) and they worked perfectly in combination with the layout drawing Bill posted above. I compared these clips with the 'ordinary' repro clips and they are very different. i suggest you call the to see if they are still available.

Truck shop in Anaheim, Ca.

I just ordered my new clips from the filling station. Even in the picture they look better. Hopefully they will be here soon. Thank you tomctomc I like that site, is most of their products a lot like original?

Fabguy - i like the filling station too, but unfortunately i think most of the stuff they have is the same repops that everyone carries - because that is all that is available. That said, they seem to try to hunt down elusive parts and somehow seem to care a bit more than usual. good luck on your project
