I put in the new harness and today I installed the new headlight switch. When I hook up the wires, and before I mounted it to the dash, the dash lights work fine with the key in ON or START position, but the dome light does not....when I mount the switch to the dash, the dome light works fine, but now the dash lights are on even when the key is in the off position...Do I have a grounding problem? Any pointers on how to fix this situation? If I leave it as it is, it will drain the battery....Thanks Mike :confused: :confused: | | |

the dome light should get it's power and ground thru the switch, the dash lights get power only from the switch - the wires to both are gray, w/ the dome light being a lighter gauge - maybe you have the 2 wires switched around?

#94523 02/06/2006 1:26 AM | Joined: Nov 2002 Posts: 21 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Nov 2002 Posts: 21 | Thanks for the help guys...got it working...very simple....the new knob was too far on the stick, and was preventing the switch from closing when installed..I took the know off, pushed the stick all the way in, reset the knob and now it works fine...except for blowing a fuse when I forgot to turn the key off when I installed it!!!
