I'm a Dodge and International Harvester guy so please excuse the dumb questions. On the way to work I spotted an old flatbed 1/2 ton truck for sale in front of a body shop. The sign says '39 Ford when the truck is obviously GM. Front sheet metal is gone or stored away.
How do I know it's GM? I'm currently working on a '39 GMC and a '42 Chevy pickup. The truck in question has 6 lug wheels, arched indent in firewall, GM dash, etc.
Anyway, the ID tag on cowl says Yellow Truck and Manufacturing Company. I think GM owned this company, but did they produce 1/2 pickups in the late 30's early 40's (my guess on this truck)? This truck has running boards that were once attached to rear fenders.
Sorry if this an old story. Thanks in Advance, Don
