I'm getting ready to go get some dirt in my 46 COE. I'm wondering how much weight the bed can lift. I don't know the style of bed I have. Has new seals and a new high pressure hose. Here is a poor picture of what I have. I thinking about getting 4 or 5k lbs.

Have you put anything back there yet to test the ram? Whats the truck rated at? If it doesn't dump you'll just have to shovel untill it does?

it should lift what ever you can put it that bed you made and then some. what is the gvw of your truck? then go get it weighed empty and the difference is what you can legally haul. my two ton dump can legally 4.5 tons. when i hit four tons i hear the hoist growning until i get past the fulcrum of the lift. with 3 tons or less it flys right up. mine is a galion hoist.

All I can tell from your photos is that it is a twin arm underbody. If you'll measure the cylinder diameter and length so you can approximate the stroke and give me the body length I can give you the mfgr's. rating.

Be sure those lift arms are in good condition and fittings adequately greased before attempting to use it. And if you have any info on the pump it is somewhat helpful.
