My 1946 1/2 ton has a Delco distributor #1110090. My Motor Age manual shows two different advance curves for this distributor. One begins advance at 600 RPM, the other one begins at 700 RPM. Does anyone know which one was the standard unit for my truck? Thanks.

runnjump,

Welcome to the site. Although I don't know the answer to your question, I will say that a 100 RPM difference is quite insignificant.

The availability of the proper unit could be a sticky wicket...because this item responds to engine vacuum, the difference must be achieved with the internal spring.

Unless you are attempting to do a matching numbers thing, I don't think you would ever notice the difference between these two vacuum advance units.

Thanks Stuart. That's kind of what I thought, too. I need to replace the vacuum advance and was just curious. I'm sure the parts folks will probably list only one.

Thanks again.

the complete distributor from any chevy 6 from about 40 to at least 62 [end of 235] will work fine - I put one from a mid 50's 235 on my 46 GMC 228 and it fixed all the little problems I had as a result of the original being worn out
