Does not look like any numbers I have seen. Could the be California Assigned numbers on a replacement engine? What are the casting numbers on the engine block?

CAA203273

Might be a WWII code

2AA in 1942 decodes to:
2 = 1942
A = passenger car
A = 216 Flint, MI

DAA in 1946 decodes to:
D = 1946
A = passenger car
A = regular engine, Flint, MI

So I'm guessing if that's what it is, they took the original motor out that it had in 41 and put a straight 6 from 1943 in the dump truck??

Post the various codes at the locations shown here. The codes should be in similar locations on your engine?

Yes they did help out a lot. They were pretty close. The markings by the fuel pump on mine were to the right and bottom but and for the 41 head all the numbers are under the cover. But yeah those pictures d-codes really helped out. found out that the head is from May 18 1941 and the block is from June 1 1943.
