Hi all, I have 58. 3600 with a 235. Problem is when idling its sounds fine. If I push the gas quickly the idle drops as if to gasp. If I give it gas slowly, idle increases nicely. I am sure this is just an adjustment. And I think it involves the gas and air/vacuum. Can anyone give me more details
Thanks Rick

Rick,

How did you adjust the timing (what procedure)?

How did you adjust the carburetor (what procedure)?

Gosh you got me there, timing I did a couple of years ago. I recall taking cap off and adjusting the screw. As for the Carb - I have never done adjusted it

Might be the accelerator pump in the carb. When you look down the carb throat you should see a good stream shoot into the manifold when you push the gas pedal. If not you may need to rebuild that carb. Easy to check before you start adjusting things.
