I noticed a loose yellow wire hanging down from the lowest post on the ignition switch. I think it's probably the reason the truck is not starting. I have searched high and low for the place it should connect to all to no avail. I have looked at the wiring diagram but it looks like a po has changed some of this wiring out and i'm lost now. So there is no telling where it went. I would put a test light on the wire and see if it lights up when you turn the ignition key to the right. If so, it probably went to the negative post of the coil if you still have the original 6 volt positive ground. If it doesn't have power, check to see if you have power to the ignition switch. If not, this could have been the power supply which comes from the ammeter. I would determine if it was the power source or wire to the coil and just run a new 14 gauge wire. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2012 Posts: 166 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2012 Posts: 166 | Thanks guys for responding... The old truck has been converted over to a 12 volt system. The yellow wire is only about 12-15" long and the loose end appears that is was part of a splice job and not twisted into another with a twist nut.... I think it wise, as suggested, to see if i got fire at the switch. Then i can go from there i guess..... I am not sure how it happened.... I was not really doing anything under the dash to have disrupted anything.... I am not even sure it plays any role at all... Just noticed it loose about the time it quit running :0
