For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Apr 2013 Posts: 144 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Apr 2013 Posts: 144 | have 2 one barrel carbs off ('53 GMC and '58 Apache), ready to order kits & rebuild. Any kits to avoid? Any kits worth paying extra for that work better/have better parts. both of the under carb rubber "isolators" or whatever they are, fell into chunks in my hands, so they come with rebuild kits or separate item? It's like a little rubber donut about an inch or so thick, I guess meant to slow down manifold heat to the one barrels (rochester). THANK YOU! | | | | | Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 2,544 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 2,544 | The spacer block will not come with a carb kit. You can get them from any of the suppliers that advertise here. Some of the kits sold by FLAPS are a fit all kit and leave alot to be desired. Get a good quality kit and use the #'s on the carb so you get the correct kit. It will be money well spent to get the best parts you can. | | |
